Barbed Wire Tattoos

One of the most popular Tattoos to have is a barbed
wire tattoos also known as barb wire tattoos. These tattoos are found to be popular with both men and woman
particularly as armbands. They are also a popular choice with celebrities most notably Pamela Anderson.
Barbed wire tattoos originated from prison culture and were later adopted by Latino’s in Southern California.
They carry a symbol of prevention of passage and represent a form of locking or
keeping. Nowadays barbed wire tattoos have also been widely
used by modern tribal tattooist to compliment a tribal design.

Places for Barbed Wire
tattoos
As well as being mostly found on the upper arm as
an arm band Barbed Wire tattoos are also found on other areas of the body such as the wrists, back and also
the neck and wrist.
Wrists
In the past many employers were known to discourage
their employees from having tattoos which are visible or even having any tattoos at all. These days as they
are so popular with modern culture many employers turn a blind eye to this trend but I thought I should warn
you in case you are deciding to get a tattoo which is visible and may harm your relationship with your
employer or prevent you from getting that dream job. Unless you wear long sleeves at work (and your
interview) you may want to think twice about wear you situate your tattoo.
Back
Another option for your Barbed Wire tattoo is on
your back. The back is one of the most popular places to have any kind of tattoo and Barbed wire tattoos is
no exception. As the back has a wide expanse of skin it opens up many options for design ideas. Many people
like to use the barbed wire to wrap around a symbol such as a heart or a rose or any kind of design that you
wish to have there. As well as wrapping around a symbol I have also seen barbed wire tattoos go from one
shoulder to the other or from the back of your neck to just above the buttocks.
Neck and
Waist
If you have a high pain thresh hold or just like
the idea you can also have barbed wire tattoos on your neck. Yes, your neck! I have seen people have a
necklace barbed wire or as a belt around your waist. Just remember, if you are thinking of having a tattoo
that isn’t very visible then the neck is not the best place unless you have a large collection of polo necks
tops.
Where ever you eventually decide to have your
barbed wire tattoo, I can assure you that this design is a timeless classic!!
